Serves:  6

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cups warm milk (110°F) (for dough)

  • 2.25 Teaspoons teaspoons active dry yeast (for dough)

  • .5 Cups granulated sugar (for dough)

  • 6 Tablespoons nsalted butter, softened (for dough)

  • 2 eggs (for dough)

  • 1 Teaspoons salt (for dough)

  • 4 Cups all-purpose flour (for dough, use up to 4.5 cups)

  • .5 Cups unsalted butter, softened (for filling)

  • 1 Cups cup brown sugar, packed (for filling)

  • 2.5 Tablespoons ground cinnamon

  • 4 Ounces cream cheese, softened (for cream cheese frosting)

  • .25 Cups unsalted butter, softened (for cream cheese frosting)

  • 1.5 Cups powdered sugar (for cream cheese frosting)

  • .5 Teaspoons vanilla extract (for cream cheese frosting)

  • 1 Pinches salt (for cream cheese frosting)

Instructions:

1. Make the Dough:

In a small bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining sugar, butter, eggs, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir.

Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

2. Prepare the Filling:

Mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl until it forms a spreadable paste.

3. Assemble the Rolls:

Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 16x12 inches).
Spread the cinnamon-sugar filling evenly over the dough.

Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal slices.
Place the rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.

4. Bake the Rolls:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

5. Make the Frosting:

Beat cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt, and mix until creamy.

6. Frost and Serve:

Spread the cream cheese frosting over the warm rolls. Serve immediately and enjoy!
